North Kohala, Big Island of Hawaii

Operation Vacation

Activities:

Rugged black lava cliffs rimmed with rainbows provide contrast against the sparking blue Pacific Ocean where the ancient King’s playground has turned into an adventurers’ paradise on the majestic Big Island of Hawaii. You’ll find water sports such as diving, snorkeling, kayaking, surfing and deep-sea fishing offshore from world-class beaches and golf courses. Helicopters buzz over active volcanoes, secluded waterfalls and inaccessible valleys.
Horseback riding, hiking, ATV rides and zipline tours are all popular here. Tour a coffee or cocoa farm and experience one of the island’s fine restaurants, or just kick back and feel the peaceful serenity of warm island trade winds.

Kohala, Hawaii

Our new location - Kohala, Big Island of Hawaii

Land of kings and volcanoes, snow-capped mountains, lush rainforests and beaches of white, black and even green sand, Hawaii’s Big Island is an unrivaled expression of the diversity and power of nature.

Nearly twice the size of all the other Hawaiian Islands combined, you’ll find all but two of the world’s climatic zones within its’ shores. Activities for all ages and interests can be enjoyed, and a treasure trove of ancient Polynesian sacred historical sites and varied Pacific culture are waiting to be explored.

Located on the far northern tip of the island, North Kohala is where the slow pace of rural “Old Hawaii” can still be found. Quaint small towns left over from sugar plantation days come alive with an eclectic mix of art galleries and fine restaurants. It is the birthplace of Hawaii’s first king, Kamehameha. Rolling green pastureland rich for grazing keeps the “Paniolo”, or cowboy traditions alive, and sustainable lifestyles are taking root. An ecotourism destination for the adventurous, North Kohala has it all!
