Operation Vacation Needs You!

Join Operation Vacation as a volunteer for the Sixth Annual Colorado Yagatta Regatta, a one-of-a-kind rafting floatilla and costume contest that brings together the whitewater community, Glenwood Springs locals and visitors for a fun, family-friendly day on the Colorado River and at Two Rivers Park. The event, taking place from 12-9 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, features river rafting, microbrew tasting, live music, food, fireworks, kid's activities and more.
Operation Vacation is looking to recruit 100 volunteers for the Colorado Yagatta Regatta on May 24. Those who volunteer for at least two hours receive free admission to Saturday’s events ($10 value) including music, contests and activities. Volunteers should include their names, phone numbers and e-mail address so they to be assigned positions and time slots. The Colorado Yagatta Regatta seeks to fill the following volunteer positions prior to May 24:

• Entry Gates: greet people coming in, handle money, check IDs, issue bracelets

• Main tent: Sell items, handle money.

• Beer Servers: Check bracelets, handle tokens/tickets, serve beer

• Kids’ Activities: Chaperon activities, handle tokens/tickets

• Parking: direct traffic

• Raft take-out: help back vehicles, load rafts and vehicles

• Trash/recycling: monitor trash/recycle bins, pick up trash

• Set up/tear down event fencing, tents, canopies: prior to event and after

National Events

The Colorado Yagatta Regatta is the largest fundraiser for Operation Vacation, a national program based in Glenwood Springs that provides all expenses-paid vacations for soldiers and their families to Glenwood Springs and Grand County in Colorado and Dallas and Austin in Texas.
